Project statement
Waterskin emerged at the Minho River dam, where relentless currents and sharp wind sculpted the surface into a raw, ever-shifting canvas.
This series unfolds as a sensory inquiry into the nature of water, its power to mutate, to mirror, to dissolve boundaries. Some images are intentionally inverted, fragmenting spatial perception and suspending the viewer in a liminal space where gravity loses its hold. The water ceases to be landscape; it becomes a membrane, a sensorial threshold, a skin that remembers and reflects.
In this floating topography, abstraction is not a distance from reality but a deeper immersion into its fluid, unstable essence.
