Project statement

In the arid vastness of the salt flats, the earth cracks, water evaporates, and salt gradually sculpts an almost surreal landscape. This photographic series explores these territories by playing with scale and distance, deliberately blurring our visual landmarks.

Through crimson hues and fractured lines, each image creates the illusion of an aerial landscape. Yet, what appears to be a vast desert seen from above could just as easily be a tiny detail of the ground. The absence of tangible reference points immerses the viewer in a fascinating ambiguity: are we looking at a satellite view of a distant terrain, or a microtopography shaped by salt?

By exploring this boundary between abstraction and reality, this series invites us to rethink how we perceive space. Between imaginary cartography and dreamlike visions, these landscapes transform depending on the gaze, challenging our certainties and awakening our imagination.
