THE MOON COLLECTION
In 2009 and 2014, Alain went to the Atacama desert in Chile. He captured a large quantity of images and films from an international observatory. Located at an altitude of 2500 m at the foot of the Andes (Altiplano), the Atacama desert offers the perfect conditions for observing the sky due to the purity of the air and the absence of visual and sound pollution. By adding several manipulations but without altering the original image, he achieves perfect luminosity and impressive details for a stunning rendering in the Lightbox. In this series, Alain also works with NASA / Galileo media (Public Domain).
THE FAR SIDE OF THE MOON
The Far Side by Alain Richard expresses the artist’s desire to showcase the “other side of the moon.” The goal is to reveal and highlight the hidden and shaded side of the mystical orb, which is usually invisible from Earth. Alain uses images captured by NASA in 1972 during the Apollo 16 mission. He processes these images through various assembling and detailing techniques.
